Our rationale for this project was to create a design that was strong, yet feminine’ and to avoid producing a generic ‘girly’ design; as this board was aimed at advanced female snowboarders.

We utilised floral and jewellery motifs and combined them with the dragons’ heads to introduce an element of fantasy into the mix. The colours we used were feminine, but we avoided pastels sticking to stronger pinks and purples. We enhanced the jewelled quality of the design by using metallic inks and a matte pass which was noticeable when the light altered.
